Alternatives to Doctor Referrals

If you do not agree with the specialist referral made by your primary doctor, there are other options. You can seek a second opinion or try alternative therapies to help manage your condition or illness.

At Polewski & Associates, we will devote all of our skills, experience, and resources to ensuring that you have the highest quality of representation possible should you suffer due to medical error or negligence.

Get a Second Opinion

You want to be entirely sure that you are making the best decision about your health. Therefore, if you are skeptical about your doctor's advice, you should ask for a second opinion. Reasons to obtain a second opinion include:

  • If you have doubts about your condition
  • If you do not feel confident about the recommendation by your primary care physician
  • If you are unsure about the advised treatment
  • If you do not feel that the recommended specialist is right for you

Alternative Therapies

Alternative therapies like yoga, meditation, and acupuncture have been shown to help alleviate certain conditions and illnesses. Studies have revealed that yoga can help alleviate stress, which has been linked to high blood pressure. Some yoga practicioners have also found relief from chronic pain from back injuries, as well as knee pain and hip pain.

Acupuncture has been known to help manage arthritis, nerve paralysis, stomach ulcers, and addictions like smoking and overeating. Because of its calming effects, meditation is believed to protect against stress-related health problems, while helping manage pain and improving sleep.

If you live in the Dallas, Texas area and want to learn more about your options, please contact the medical malpractice attorneys at Polewski & Associates. We have represented clients in a variety of medical malpractice cases and can help you, too.

Head injuries range from a minor bump on the skull to traumatic brain damage. Between these two extremes, there are many different types of head injuries which can be caused by being involved in a road traffic accident, an incident at work or just slipping and banging your head on a hard surface as you fall.
